ASA Update: U.S. Senate Votes to End Debate and Consider 3 Percent Repeal Legislation

Last night, the U.S. Senate voted 94-1 (yeas-nays) to end debate on H.R. 674 and allow the legislation to move forward in the U.S. Senate. This is a critical step in the 3 percent repeal process.

Despite the overwhelming, bi-partisan vote to advance the bill, Democrats and Republicans still disagree over how to offset the cost of repealing the 3 percent withholding requirement.

As the legislation continues to makes it way through the legislative process, ASA will work with senators to help make 3 percent repeal a reality.
