ASA Launches Mobile Web Site for Subcontractors On the Go
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Subcontractors Association has launched a new mobile-friendly Web site, www.asaonline.mobi, for construction subcontractors and others who want immediate online access from their mobile devices to contracts and business management resources, and to the ASA social media groups they use to connect with other ASA members and prospective customers.
Subcontractors, specialty trade contractors, suppliers and others in the construction industry increasingly use mobile devices to connect to ASA. Now they can access many of the ASA resources they are used to accessing through www.asaonline.com in just a few easy clicks on their mobile device, including contract resources, chapter contact information, the latest public policy developments, and links to ASA’s LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube pages.
“Many traditional Web sites, designed with 15-inch or larger computer monitors in mind, look awkward and are cumbersome to navigate on smaller mobile devices,” explained 2011-12 ASA President Kerrick Whisenant, Cornerstone Detention Products Inc., Tanner, Ala. “ASA’s mobile site is better suited for small screens and offers scaled-down content and simplified navigation for easier viewing and quick action. For users who want the more traditional, non-mobile experience, ASA’s main Web site at www.asaonline.com still offers that.”
ASA’s Working Group on the ASA Web Site, chaired by R.J. Floco, Lifestyles Media Group, Phoenix, Ariz., developed the mobile site.
Founded in 1966, ASA amplifies the voice of, and leads, trade contractors to improve the business environment for the construction industry and to serve as a steward for the community. ASA’s vision is to be the united voice dedicated to improving the business environment in the construction industry. The ideals and beliefs of ASA are ethical and equitable business practices, quality construction, a safe and healthy work environment, and integrity and membership diversity.
